Introducing a new way to track student engagement

How-to and Tips

If you had to guess, how many messages have been sent across your organization this fall? Depending on the size of your community, hundreds, thousands, and even hundreds of thousands might all be reasonable estimates.

Once you have your number, this is where the questions get tougher: Of those messages, how many were actually received? Which students and families stopped responding? Who dropped off?

This year, whether you're back on campus, fully remote, or somewhere in the middle, understanding engagement is more important—and more difficult—than ever. As we shared earlier this month, students who stop engaging online are at risk of being left behind by distance learning. But unlike teachers, schools and districts don’t have a clear picture of who’s engaging and who isn’t.

Organizations with Remind Hub already have access to statistics that show aggregated engagement over time. Now, we’re adding a new layer of detail with engagement reports to provide better visibility into engagement across your organization.

Engagement reports give you the data and insight you need into individual engagement on Remind. Think of it as a weekly update that makes it easier to assess how parents, students, and teachers are communicating on Remind, from who’s sending and receiving messages to who’s opted out of notifications.

If your organization has Remind Hub, you can access engagement reports through the administrator dashboard. Exported as a CSV file, each report contains raw data that you and your team can format and analyze according to your organization’s specific needs and requirements.

To help get you started, we’ve also included simple engagement templates that let you pull basic insights for student, parent, and teacher engagement in an easy-to-read spreadsheet. With more visibility into engagement, you can identify systemic issues affecting students and families in your community—and take the necessary steps to help them get back on track.

There's a saying that you can't improve what you can't measure—and while that isn't always true, starting with a more accurate and consistent measure of engagement can be a powerful first step.

Get access to the data you need this fall. Engagement reports are now available for organizations with Remind Hub.
